Bamboo Blank Making Classes

Bellinger is now offering bamboo blank making classes. Over the course of 3 days you will receive hands-on instruction on the proper use of Bellinger equipment as you make blanks for your own 2-piece, 2-tip bamboo rod.

Master rodmaker, Daryll Whitehead (see The Art of Angling ) has agreed to serve as your instructor. Daryll and Bellinger owner Chet Croco will walk you through the process of generating high quality bamboo rod blanks safely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity to learn from two top-quality rodmakers using the finest rodmaking equipment made today.

Among the many topics that will be covered are:

• Cane selection

• Tempering

• Strip layout

• Node preparation

• Tapers

• Sawing strips

• Beveling and tapering under power

• Using your planing form

• Planing fundamentals

• Gluing and binding

• Blank clean up and straightening

The tuition costs for this 3-day class is per student, which includes a light breakfast and lunch each day.
